Leitao llega al club a 10 días del inicio del torneo dela División Profesional, debuta el miércoles 10 de marzo contra Atlético Palmaflor en Oruro.
El director técnico brasileño Thiago Leitao es el elegido por el club San José para conducir las riendas de su primer plantel. La dirigencia que encabeza la presidenta Patricia Flores llegó a un acuerdo con el estratega que ya dirigió a Aurora de Cochabamba en 2019.
Según fuentes allegadas al club orureño, Leitao estará acompañado por sus compatriotas Gabriel Texeira y Joao Paulo Barros en el cuerpo técnico del equipo de la V azul.
San José atraviesa una difícil situación en lo institucional debido a las deudas vigentes con exjugadores, entrenadores y auspiciadores. Flores fue elegida por aclamación de los socios a inicios de febrero, poco después decidió alejarse para dejar el mando a David Rivero, el titular elegido en elecciones, quien al final dio un paso al costado; Flores fue reconocida como presidenta por la Federación Boliviana de Fútbol en el último Consejo Superior.
En los días precedentes Domingo Sánchez, entrenador que llegó con el aval de la dirigencia saliente, fue despedido. Leitao tiene la difícil misión de conducir un equipo diezmado y que no puede incorporar jugadores debido a un castigo de FIFA por compromisos económicos devengados con futbolistas que pasaron para la entidad.
