El viceministro de Deportes, Miguel Ángel Rimba, señaló el jueves por la noche que el presidente Evo Morales recibió 'consternado' la noticia del deceso del joven Kevin Beltrán, de 14 años, víctima del impacto en su cabeza de una bengala arrojada por hinchas del Corinthians de Brasil, durante el partido que disputaron el miércoles en Oruro con San José.
'El Presidente -gran aficionado al fútbol- nos ha encomendado que a toda la familia (de la víctima) le demos el respaldo total', comentó Rimba, quien recibió una llamada de Morales desde Nueva York, donde participó el miércoles en el lanzamiento del año internacional de la Quinua.
'De parte del señor Presidente a la familia, la solidaridad y el respaldo total' y como autoridades 'vamos hacer para que el dolor que embarga a toda la familia pueda ser medianamente saneada', agregó en una entrevista en el programa No Mentiras del canal PAT.
El Viceministro de Deportes expresó también su indignación por la leve sanción que estableció la Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol (Conmebol) contra el Corinthians, que deberá jugar sin público en Sao Paulo la Copa Libertadores de América.
'Los partidos de local deberá jugarlos a puertas cerradas y cuando sea visitante se prohibirá que se vendan entradas a los aficionados del club brasileño. Los directivos del Corinthians tienen tres días de plazo para presentar su defensa', señaló el portavoz de la Conmebol, Néstor Benítez. 'Que el Corinthians juegue con público, sin público ( ) no devuelve la vida de este niño a su familia', consideró Rimba, ex futbolista profesional.
Por el momento hay 12 brasileños detenidos en Oruro, dos de los cuales han sido acusados de homicidio por el Ministerio Público. Por su parte, el viceministro de Régimen Interior, Jorge Pérez, anunció que este viernes el Ministerio de Gobierno hará público una norma con 'sanciones severas' para hinchas, dirigentes y clubes que pongan en riesgo la seguridad de las personas en eventos deportivos.
'Porque no puede ser que vaya una persona al estadio a distraerse, a apoyar al club de sus amores y termine lesionado, termine perdiendo la vida. Se quiere dar ejemplo y medidas drásticas para que no vuelva a ocurrir aquello', dijo en la entrevista con el programa nocturno de televisión.
